Why Regular Strength Training Changes Everything
Cardio gets the headlines, but resistance training is the quiet engine of long-term health. Muscle is metabolically active tissue: it steadies blood sugar, protects joints, and keeps everyday tasks easy for decades.
Two sessions a week is enough to start
Research keeps landing in the same place: two full-body strength sessions per week deliver most of the benefit. Push, pull, hinge, squat, carry. Five patterns, a pair of dumbbells, thirty minutes.
Recovery is part of the program
Muscles adapt between sessions, not during them. Sleep seven to nine hours, eat enough protein across the day, and keep one easy day between hard days. Soreness is feedback, not a trophy.
Start light, learn the shapes of the movements, and add load only when form holds. Consistency with light weights outperforms intensity you cannot repeat.
